Located in the southeastern part of Fukuoka Prefecture with the Minou Mountains ranging to the south and the Chikugo River flowing in the north, Ukiha City has a rich natural environment. Receiving many benefits from the forests which cover 55% of the City area, the City is highly praised for its culture as well as its natural surroundings and has featured in many best 100 lists, including "the 100 best waters in Japan", "the 100 best sources of forest rivers " , "the 100 best Tanada in Japan" and "the 100 best irrigation canals". By utilizing this abundance of nature, visitors can immerse themselves within this natural habitat, communing with the forest and enjoying a nature inspired utilization of the five senses.

Within the Forest Therapy Road site, the sounds of clear running streams, the comforting chirping of birds and the sound of leaves rustling in wind combine to make visitors feel at ease in both mind and body.

After walking, visitors can enjoy lunch boxes individually prepared by a local women's group or feast on specially adapted macrobiotic meals. "Practical experience menus" such as aroma therapy treatments using ingredients produced in Ukiha-city or yoga sessions are also available for the relaxation of both mind and body.
